Prayer for Peace was held on June 3oth 2007-Pososn Poya day.

Veemansa Bodhi Sanga Society organized a Prayer for Peace to create space for the people of all communities to talk peace. It was held at Viharamahadevi open air theatre at dusk.

The purpose of the Prayer for Peace was to prevent war and plead for peace in Sri Lanka. People are worried as violence escalates.

"All should be able to live with dignity without any discrimination. We have to understand, respect and love each other. We cannot win the hearts and minds of the people through violence" said D. G. Emma Nona of Nugegoda
Organisers believe prayer can help in achieving peace
